2017 will be another year of diversity in Ethno Portugal! More than 17 confirmed nationalities (Portugal, Germany, Algeria, France, England, Spain, Tunisia, Egypt, Croatia, Iran, Scotland, Denmark, Italy, Cyprus, Greece, Ireland, Ghana, and Switzerland). The participants will be part of the Ethno Portugal Orchestra and its body of dancers, in what is the largest artistic residence of young musicians in Portugal. For 10 days, from the 29th July to the 8th August, in the quaint village of Castelo de Vide, these young musicians and dancers will learn the repertoire of each country with which they will make a show that will be on tour and will open the Andanças Festival, which this year will also take place in the village of Castelo de Vide, from 8 to 11 August.

Less than 10 days from the closing of the applications to Ethno Portugal 2017, we have received over 60 applications from musicians and dancers from all over the world, which anticipates yet another edition full of culture and diversity, sharing and disseminating of traditional music and dance. We also confirm the presence of Sérgio Cobos as a Dance mentor. Artistic Leaders confirmed for Ethno Portugal 2017!

This year, Ethno Portugal will be led by the following musicians: Teresa Campos, Pau Baiges, Denys Stetsenko e Juan de La Fuente. These musicians, already regular presences in this annual artistic residency organized by PédeXumbo, have a vast experience in teaching and playing by ear. Open Call for young dancers and musicians for another Ethno Portugal Edition!

Here comes another Ethno Portugal! An artistic residency of traditional music and dance that gathers young musicians and dancers from around the world for 10 intense days of friendship, sharing, a lot of o music and dance! This edition Ethno Portugal will take place from the 29th July to the 8th August in Castelo de Vide. The Open Call for the next Ethno Portugal edition happens from 3 March to 31 May. Young musicians and dancers can apply to participate in the biggest artistic residency that takes place in Portugal. 50 young musicians and dancers, from different countries, between 16 and 30 years of age will be selected to share their energy, music, dance and culture and to build together, a show of original sonorities that will be presented in different places including Festival AndançasApplication for musicians.
